[DIY] Oversize doors

We got a great deal on some doors at Habitat, to fit the opening between house and barn/shop.  They are 8' tall and very good condition, beautiful hardware - but are just the doors.  Our opening is 6' wide and 10' tall.  Our plan is to install the doors then add a window at the top.

Most information I can find online is for pre-hung doors.  Anyone got some tips or know a website that gives more info? We have double 2x4's at each side of the opening, in case we needed more width. These doors are 36" so wondering if we could we simply add a header to fit and install the hinges much as if it was pre-hung.   As you know we planned on sliding barn doors, but once we are living here it makes more sense to install regular doors to make it more secure and keep the ac/heat in.

Thanks

RE: [DIY] Faucet Sprayer addon

A faucet with a hose sprayer has a diverter that automatically stops the water from the spout when the sprayer is on.  If you added a "T" to the water line for the sprayer only, you might get away with it, assuming you stop the faucet when you use the sprayer.  Otherwiise the pressure would be low.  But an interesting idea.

I think you can jerry-rig something up.  But it would be easier and faster to replace the faucet with one that has a sprayer.  Might even be cheaper.  Good luck.

Subject: [DIY] Faucet Sprayer addon

I have a utility sink in the basement with a plain Jane two valve faucet. I would like to have a sprayer on this sink without buying a new faucet. I do not want to screw on a hose to the faucet each time I need to use the sprayer. Is there a device I can add to the water lines that would allow me to add a sprayer to the existing faucet?
