[DIY] Water pressure

I have been told that if there is a loop for the water supply, so that the source from the meter is at one point in the loop and multiple home fixtures are tapping into the loop, that there will not be a drop in pressure when using two fixtures, such as the shower going hot when someone flushes the toilet.

Is that true? It seems to me that because there is still one source coming into the house, the pressure will drop regardless.

Has anyone else heard of such a thing?
