No one knows, but it'll happen eventually. Verizon now owns Yahoo, and they're a telecommunications company that doesn't make any money having chatty people send each other emails without paying. So they're driving people away gradually. First they got rid of most of the staff of Yahoo Groups, and in December they're getting rid of the files and photos (and apparently website pages?) People can still send each other emails, but most groups are seeing the light and leaving for greener pastures like io. Eventually when they shut it off, they'll probably give a month or two notice as they are here for files and photos.
I'm not the owner of this group and I don't even know if it has files. At io, you can have a membership for free if you don't have files or photos.
