I think what you want is more lumens. Generally there are more lumens coming out of a 100w tungsten bulb but then there is also more heat. Look for LED bulbs with more lumens that your current 60w tungsten bulb and then you get less heat, better savings on electricity and more light.

I have a ceiling light that puts the light bulb inside a glass enclosure.  60 watt limit on the bulb size.

Could I get more light with a 100 watt equivalent led bulb?
