The best resource for how to restore the treadle would be on a quilting group or vintage sewing machine group. I have a cousin who restores her own machines and is active with several groups. She'll know which site would provide the most helpful information. I'll try to get a response from her and pass that on to you. I'm sure there is a lot of experience out there doing just this sort of thing, and that the members of that group would love to share their passion for refurbishing old machines with you.
