Hey all,
The other night using my toilet, the plastic pull chain inside the tank broke. The toilet had been running for a while (leaky flapper, warped with age) so that meant today was toilet repair day.
My toilet is a non-standard toilet - it's a Cato Cermanics toilet (never heard of them). It's not quite 9 years old.
I replaced the old float ball ballcock with a float cup ballcock. No problem. I replaced the old flapper with a Korky universal 3" flapper and metal chain - no more running.
However, now when we flush the toilet, the new flapper falls back down before the tank water has had a chance to run back into the bowl and actually flush.
How do I slow down the flapper, so I don't have to stand there holding the handle down?
Thanks in advance,
Maribeth
