Soak paper towels or rags, stick them against the crud and wait. Might have
to soak the paper towels/rags more than once, depending on how heavy the
crud is. Time... depends on how heavy the crud is. I have really hard
water and use vinegar in the washer instead of fabric softener, use it to
clean the crud edge off my pet's water dish, clean the coffee maker (until I
started using bottled water. At the very worst, nothing will happen and you
can move on to other cleaners, but vinegar is cheap and a good place to
start.

thank you. Please explain more because I have never had any luck using
vinegar to remove lime build up on anything.
Do I let it soak on a rag? How long should it sit on the lime?

I volunteer at a thrift store and our room has a stainless steel sink that
is probably 40 years old and the lime/crud build up on it is terrible.
I used Wink to help remove some of the rust but even using a stainless steel
scrubber I couldnt get any of the lime off.
What can I use to soften and remove it? What have YOU used that worked?
