What I would try is the following......Pierce the "string" with the wire about 1/2 to
3/4 inch back.....Wrap excess wire (about 3/4 inch) around string to its tip.....
If string material will accept heat, seal the end with the flame of a match.....
Your connection between wire and string is now "knot-less".....Use the wire
to pull the string through the fabric.....Pumps......
