I would try to do it the same way you run an electrical wire. Start by runnig your thin wire through the channel.
I'm also guessing that the channel is too small for a knot, so simply doubling over the wire to make a hook and then string through the hook and back upon itself then tape them up tightly (squeeze the wire loop as small as possible). This will help prevent the wire from snagging the inside of the channel. Take is slow and you shouldn't have too much problems.

Somebody must have the ticket on this. The "channel" is total elastic. I pulled the string all the way out and pushed a thin wire through the whole channel. But now I can't get the wire to pull the string back. This is Michigan. If I soak the string in water and place it straight outside overnight, do you think I can push it through in the morning?
