OK guys, when all else fails, I turn to you :) We need to have a fan w/light installed in the area where we are currently installing a wood ceiling. They guy had planned to install the fan with the remote only - no wall switch. There has never been a light in this area, and it's something to do with how hard it would be to find the right wire and connect to a new switch, since he can't easily get into the area to run wires?? He can wire it to existing light switch but I don't want to have them on just to have the fan light on.
With our current fan/light I use the remote most of the time, but I'm wondering about problems installing the new fan/light for use only with a remote? The one I'm looking at is the Chateau Deville 52 in. LED Indoor Deville Walnut Ceiling Fan at Home Depot. He says you just wire it for the remote, not a wall switch. Home Depot says that's probably OK?? My other option is simply to install a hanging light and worry about a fan later, but the only remote I saw to be used for this purpose - again at HD was $50, more than the lamp. Need to make a decision fast since he's about to that area.
Thanks!!!
