I bought a Tekton #6555 Rivet Gun. It is supposed to have a lifetime warranty according to the package but I have talked to the service technician and he is of little help. The first one did not work and I sent it back. The first time I used this I had problems. I am trying to install a hasp for a tumbling composter on a steel drum. The first rivet was hard to squeeze the handles. The rivet popped and the stem is still on the rivet. The second rivet was even harder to squeeze and the rivet worked though. The third rivet was not that hard to squeeze. I only squeezed about half way and the rivet popped but the stem was still on the rivet. Usually I have to squeeze about 2 or 3 times before it pops. The guy at Tekton basically is saying it is my fault and I should get a different rivet gun. I asked him about lubricating it and he says it does not need lubricating and that all the guns were checked before shipping.
What do people in this forum suggest I do to make it work? Is the best thing to do with the rivet stems, just saw them off?
Thanks
