I would repeat the WD40 to remove adhesive, and then use SMPLE GREEN  or PURPLE POWER degreaser to remove the WD40?

You can try alcohol or Sweet orange essential oil. Most of the orange oil cleaners on the market have essential orange in them.

I followed instructions for cleaning stickers off the inside of my car's windshield using WD40. Well I got the stickers off and most of the residue but I've still got a smear on the windshield I'm guessing from the WD40 - or maybe just the tail end of the sticker glue residue.
