As a person that lives farther north, it was -7 this morning.  Although, the storm went south of us, we now have the cold, cold temperatures.  As we get older, the snow is lovely but harder on the joints.  Many people say they can tell when moisture is on its way. I turned down similar lucrative employment in Chicago for same reasons you did in FL....God does make the world with so many different climates because she knew there would be people coming along to match.
