When I built my house 5 years ago I installed a heat pump. Living in northwest WI it works well. It works until about 15-20 degrees. When it was installed the company had just installed a few. It seems like you either pay for the electricity to run it or the propane as the backup. Its fine if the price of propane is high. But the price of electricity is not going down.
