Re: [DIY] Need advice on insulating pipes inside wall to avoid freezing

Thanks, I've had a hair dryer, heat gun and quartz set up all morning with no luck, although I didn't think about cutting a hole in the wall first.  This is the first time we've had a problem.  This was the only way they could get water to the front, it comes directly off where the pipes enter the house from the pump.  I thought we could cut the back of the cabinets out later but may have to do it today.  It may be where the pipes turn the corner from the interior wall to the outside wall.  They built the wall out 6" along this entire side and put in double insulation.  Maybe it was the firece wind coming from the west last night.  Might try cutting into the back of the cabinet nearest the corner.  Thanks.

If the freezing will only occur rarely, you may just want to make a hole into
the exterior wall under the sink area......I would prop up a hair dryer and
place it into the hole......The warm air would unfreeze the pipes in about
15 to 20 minutes......(The "freeze" is most likely at a bend in the piping)....
Pumps......
