On the goat shed the corrugated tin is laid on furring strips that are running perpendicular to the roof rafters, and nail directly to them, no tar paper, the goat shed is 8 by 12, and with just a modest 8 inch overhang no leaks, and the gaps at the top provide ventilation to the sloped roof. I mentioned zlock roofing because it is a style of metal roof that has all the screws covered and you don't have to tighten them, I thought you were talking about a whole house roof. For a structure that small just put up some furring strips, and nail or screw the metal to the strips, you can use the foam strips to seal the roof if need be…

It's for a very small project about 4-1/2' x 4-1/2'. Not a standard roof. Just a sloped roof. The angle doesn't meet their specs of 2.5:12. It will only be about 1-3/4" higher on one side. Do you foresee any issues with that on such a small roof?
I'll look into the Z-Lock fasteners, thank you.
I've read from a couple of people not to lay the steel roofing directly on top of felt/tar paper. However, I've read a couple of manuals that state to use felt (#30 more specifically). What would be the logic in NOT placing the corrugated steel roofing onto the felt paper. Any ideas?
Also, it seems in a manual for Fabral, they recommend nails on the tops of the ribs and screws on the bottom according to the diagram. Though on the tighter ribbed sheets they suggest the screws on the top. This Fabral stuff looks more like pointed or triangular shaped as opposed to the curved.

All depends on what you want it for, used the galvanized corrugated for the goat shed, chicken coop, used Ondura corrugated fiber for the porch roof, for a house I would use Z lock for my house(will be our next roof), quite a few folks here use the flat panels for their roof installed with the washered screws, but the screws have to be tightened periodically(not so with z-lock), also you need an air gap between the roof deck and the metal (if you are putting it on an existing roof) use furring strips..the corrugated molds are to seal the air gap, only have used them over a screened in porch to close out bugs

Does anyone have any experience or first hand knowledge about corrugated roofing? I've done a little reading on it but am also looking for personally experienced knowledge.
Metal vs. Plastic.
What's the best shape to get (rounded, flat, squared) or purposes of each.
What type of fasteners and any tips on installation.
Also, are those corrugated molds used to support/seat the roofing actually necessary.
Thanks for any tips.
