went into service after that...put those puppies out of my mind..needed a 4 wheel
cart to haul all the cards for a decent program...

You are a real "Jonnie come lately"  When I started in '63 we were using punch tape.  Got high speed mag tape in 69 and thought we were really up town.  Drum and disk memory, with a separate r/w head for each track. Core memory, discrete component logic, no monitors. no key boards, chain and drum printers, just to name a few, and no high level compilers, progammed everything in machine language and had binary blisters on our fingers.  16 bit serial, 250 khz clock.  Oh yes those were the days.

Has any moderator taken care of the spam here?  I am wary of even opening a DIY mail these days

But-flash drives in my experience as EE and CS engineer have been 100% reliable in the last
5-6 years that I have used..Ikeep one plugged in (64GB now) and backup emails, docs, sometimes
8-10 times a day...cpu's will crash...not if, but when!  FD's also great for those digital pic frames..have
had one running now for about 3 years from an FD without an hiccup.

New now are those SD chips in cameras plug into some laptops and other devices..
the new one Iam looking for is 512 GB!! 1/2 a terrabyte the size of your thumb!!  When I
started this computer gig in 1970 100MB of storage took up the size of a small closet
in a 19" x 48" rack and required over 15 amps!!
