The south side of our two-story home gets very muggy and humid while the north side rooms are usually pretty cool. This is all based on sun exposure and minimal backyard protection from sun. We got a dehumidifier but we weren't sure where to place it in order to get the most out of it.
The main air intake is centrally located at the top of the stairs. The main problem areas are the master bedroom about 10 feet from the air intake and the family room/kitchen in the downstairs. We were thinking of putting it next to the air intake so that it dehumidifies the air before distributing it, but would it be better to simply place it in a specific room? The manual says to put it in a central location for maximum circulation but I'm not quite sure how that would work given our home configuration.
