RE: [DIY] sump pump not turning off

Modified and installed a washer, placed it on float. Cycles fine.

I have no experience with this but, like the
old needle skipping on a record problem,  I would try
adding a little bit of weight, but not too much.

I have installed a new (electric) sump and a water
powered backup sum pump. The electric pump does not shut off
when the sump is empty. Very light pressure on the float
shuts the pump off. Can I add a weight to the float to make
it "bottom" and turn off the pump?

Thanks for your input.
