Yes  Acrylic caulk is an excellent glue.  I have used it to set curb stones, attach bed liners in trucks, repair broken concrete, glue glass sheets, etc.  It  will last for years.

Silicone is a very poor adhesive.  Try clear acrylic latex and let set for at least 24 hours.
