Fw: [DIY] Hardie Plank

Howdy,

On the two homes for my mom and aunt the score and snap work best for us.  We also did cut it with a carbide cement saw that did OK also, it was fast but it did not take any longer to score them and them snap them.

Subject: [DIY] Hardie Plank

Does anyone here have experience with cutting and installing hardie plank siding products?

I see at the box stores that it comes in a few varieties.  Big sheets (as you would see plywood or OSB).  Lap siding strips.  Shingle style sections.

What have you had experience cutting this stuff with?

Apparently there is a special cutter for curved cuts that costs upwards of $100-$200.  I'll pass on that.  A special carbide cement blade for a table saw can be used. Has anyone ever tried a jigsaw?  Has anyone ever tried the score and snap approach, and, if so, how well does that work?

Thanks.
