Is it the bagless? Have you tried emptying the container? It might be there and circulating around in that.

Subject: [DIY] Dirt Devil Featherlite vacuujm cleaner
I accidentally vacuumed up a screw. Now when i turn it on, I can hear it circulating in the vac. I took the bottom part off and cleaned the brush, thinking that might allow it to drop out, but that didn't work. How can I remove the screw?
