Do you folks know of trees/plants which would be recommended/sufficient for planting on a slope to serve the same purpose as a retainer wall? I mean, it's not sooooo steep......we walk up & down it all the time, but still it's ALL washing (over time) down toward our house! It's covered somewhat w/grass & weeds & we keep it mowed, etc. I hear it would cost "an arm & a leg" to put a retainer, & was just wondering if it would be possible to avoid it by strategically planting the right plants. We're planning on some grading of the land away from our house & installing french (or trench??) drains soon & would like to do some plantings simultaneously IF we think that would suffice instead of a retainer wall. Your advice, opinions, & input is GREATLY anticipated! Thanks!
