Re: [DIY] A Get-About for Rough Terrain

Indeed, very helpful info. & advice.  Ideally, I would like something like this in a 2-seater, but I guess there's not such a thing, huh?  Just to be able to jump on it & go (w/2 people) w/o having to hook on the trailer/wagon would be perfect.  BTW, no hot-rodding jackrabbit stunts around here!  :o)

They are different from a riding lawnmower. I have a riding mower and,
although it's great for mowing all the grass I have, I wouldn't want to use
it for what you need. I believe that the controls are up on the handlebars,
like a motorcycle. As for the kids staying seated, again safety needs to be
emphasized, and go slow. A bit of a bumpy ride, at first, emphasizes the
'stay seated' request. My friend's four kids range in age from 3 yrs to 12
years. I can only recall once that a child (the next oldest) fell out,
which happened when Daddy decided to "hot rod" a jackrabbit start. He
thought it'd be fun. The kids, even the ones in the wagon, didn't find it
"fun" at all. Needless to say, the problem there was the (supposed-to-be)
adult, not the children.

Do your research before you make a decision.

Hope this helps.
