When I put mats in our stalls, the first thing I did was drill a one inch hole in a corner. Next I used a large hook with a handle and pulled the mat around to where I needed it.
I tried to use a skill saw to cut the mats but felt that was too dangerous.
I found the easiest way for me to cut the mats was to drape one over the tail gate of the pick up and let it bend exactly where I wanted the cut to be.
I used a metal 4 foot measuring stick to measure and mark my line.
Next while holding the metal ruler, I used an exacto knife or similar cutting tool (with a single edge razor blade type cutter) and cut cut cut across the entire length until it cut through.
anytime I had to put mats together, I set the factory edges together and put the cut edges to the outside. I did not think my cut edges were ragged.
