I'm really liking the idea of just covering it with paneling. It will be difficult, but not near as difficult as sanding this crap down completely.
I'm not sure what these people were thinking, but I'd like to hunt them down and make them undo it. It is not only in our master bathroom on all four walls, but it is in one of the bedrooms as well.
I appreciate all of the good suggestions!
