you worry about the TP, but how many of you have your washing machine drain to the septic tank?? i put a filter on mine and was supprised at the amount of lint that was trapped, and lint does not decompose and will most certainly clog a leach field line.. and as for "pumping out the tank" it all depends on the soil in your drain field. in SE missouri, the soil is crappy clay so the smart ones have the system pumped about every 3-4 years.
i would much rather pay the price to have it pumped out every 3 years than to have to clean a backup in the basement even once.
i also have a cleanout filter on the pipe from the septic tank to the distribution box" overkill ??? maybe.
