Actually, I was referring to a commercial descaler solution, which is much more effective than vinegar. I had a buildup in my hot pot that would not yield to anything, including boiling vinegar. I bought Urnex Dezcal Activated Scale Remover from Amazon (about $17) and used it once. It removed all buildup completely. I thought the mineral buildup might be similar to what you are fighting in your bathtub.

Good suggestion. I personally use white vinegar in my coffee pot. Might not be a bad idea to try hot vinegar on this crusty lime build up. Thank you
