Found one of these outside several years ago. Had no idea what it was. It was a huge blue wasp, triple the size of the local yellow jacket wasp. Very armored with a huge stinger. It was almost completely blue. It looked to be one tough wasp.
Luckily it was dying so it had lost all its fight, gave me the chance to check it out. I have never seen one before or since. Rarely see tarantulas either but they do exist, just not many, more of a desert creature.
Apparently they use a tarantula as a host for their young, stinging it, leaving it paralyzed for the young to feed on. Its supposed to be one of the most painful stings around for a human.

Let me see if I have the situation: you have wasps outside and spiders inside.
If you can get them together, the wasps will take care of the spiders.
