After an internet search, I have found the following........The period of
the "new electricity" reaching the public was between 1870 and 1930......
BX cable, while developed in 1903, did not become popular until 1930.....
Conclusion, your 1925 house was originally designed for gas and then
adapted to the availability of electricity.......Rather than ripping out all the
gas piping, the piping was used to support the latest technology of the time.....
This fact is true today......Many late 1800 "brown stone" houses still have
the original gas piping behind their wooden lathe walls.....( I lived in one)....
