the bead is the area where your tire touches the rim.When the tire is flat the bead needs a lot of pressure to "break' it off the the rim to change the tire and a must should you choose to change your own tires,not some thing the average joe wishes to do. however the person asking for this help and learning such is very helpful. hope this helps jeff

Fun to read solutions where I don't even know what the question is :) I may still not know what a tire bead is but if someone asks I know Harbor Freight carries a tool for it. Love this list!
