Contact your homeowners insurance and tell them the water co. turned on the water with out you being there and flooded your home they may pay for fixxing up and back charge the water co.insurance.also inform the water co you expect them to fix this mess.

Can I cry now? I would just get the wood wetter! just bought new old home- water co turned on water w/o me there- sniff, sniff!!! faucet to washer hookup on full blast! soaked kitchen, into living room!then through kitchen wall into master bedroom!! a few tiles popped and carpet grew big bulges!!! lifted up carpet- brown fiber looking boards- look like some have mumps! other repacing what is warped-do I need to replace wallboard that got wet? when wet is it ruined? built in 60s.
