On almost all cameras the tripod socket is 1/4 ~ 20 machine thread. So a regular 1/4~20 screw with a nice big washer and a wing nut should have you ready to go.
Judi don't over tighten the screw you could damage the camera.

Websearch isn't doing any good. I have acquired an old Sunset GD-3000 tripod. Think I might like it better than the other ones I have, but it's missing the camera-mount screw.
Any idea where I might get one, or what I could get at the hardware store to rig it up? Apparently there are no more camera stores left around here...
