Maybe I did not use the right term. I meant transparent stain that you can see the natural wood texture but it would have color. The Wood Guard does have a tint. I am not that particular about the color of the tint since any tint would look better than a fading color that we have now. I was hoping to combine them since they are $150 a 5 gallon container. I am not sure if the Thompson's is tinted. I would have to look. My preference would be a brownish reddish tint.
