Transparent is actually clear......What you have is semi-transparent......
The only other stain is "solid" color stain.......If you want to see the grain, of
the wood siding, and have protection a semi-transparent will give you the
color but it is the solvent which gives the wood its protection.......A semi-
transparent stain will fade and is designed to tint surfaces which see wear
like the surface of a deck.......If you apply a semi-transparent you will get
the color you desire but you will have to reseal the surface with a clear
coating, every year or two, in order to protect the siding.......All paint
coatings are now expensive due to the cost of raw materials.......You may
want to look into a solid color stain which will require less maintenance,
in the long run......Thompson's is a deck coating product.......Pumps
