Re: [DIY] Flooring

I know zip about laminate but to move furniture on carpeting, we bought that "as seen on TV" furniture mover.  Better than even the little sliders you can get at Lowes to put under furniture legs.  This was a little more expensive but has the bar that provides leverage.  Wonderful stuff for people of a more mature persuasion and you can move furniture without waiting for someone to help.  We even moved the china cabinet around without having to take it apart or remove the glass items in it, a first in the 35 years we've had it.  DH used the  bar to lift it about half inch and I put the sliders under each leg.  Then just slow and easy moved it around - did the same with the big armoire.  Even moved them back since I didn't like the new arrangement and DH loved the fact he didn't have to strain his muscles to move furniture for me.

Re the paint:  We've used the Superior SW a lot with good results, and I love the Luminous colors but they've changed it now so you can only get them in a more expensive base.  We did buy Duration this last time, don't remember why, maybe that's what we had to buy to get the luminous base.  It was for the front bathroom so only needed one gallon.  In fact, one coat covered the dark base but we added a second coat for durability and to deepen the color.  Which I love by the way, I was the only one who thought it would work but now everyone loves it.  Spinach :)  Just enough green not to be white and the dark furnishings look wonderful against the light walls without having to have white.
