The wallboard in my condo was put in the 80's. This is south Florida. I am going to take a picture of the wallboard where the wallpaper was pulled off from, and kind of shows what is beneath that. I'll let you know when it's in the photo section -- later. One of the reasons, though, that I'm asking is because I was reading about spackling and filling holes, etc., and someone on the net made a point of showing plasterboard and not drywall, so I was wondering how to tell. Everyone here says drywall, but at this point I wouldn't know what or who to believe unless I see it and understand it with my own eyes.

Generally speaking, Plasterboard is coated completely with plaster, usually
the plaster is about 1/4 inch thick over the entire wall, and when you try
to pound a nail into it to hang a picture it usually cracks and flakes, it
replaces the old lath and plaster system, while dry wall is just gypsum
board where you tape/mud the joints and mud the nails/screws, then paint.
Then there are some folks that use the two terms, plaster board and dry
wall, to mean gypsum wall board. Today there are many more kinds of wall
board, for many different applications.
