OK, I will accept that EXCEPT that I have never painted anything much. I'm glad to hear that modern-day advances allow latex to be painted over oil base prime, but not necessarily over oil base paint. Thanks!

Modern Latex / Acrylic paints can be applied fine over Oil based primers. 30 years ago what you said was true but then Latex paint was very different from now. As long as the primer is dry there should be no problems. Things change and what was true in your youth may not still be the truth.
