The exterminater is coming this week to the building, but boric acid is all over everything and DOES NOT WORK. What works is the psray plus the boric acid in some places.

I would use boric acid wherever I could. It comes in a powder form that you can apply to baseboards and any cracks. The ants will walk through the powder and bring it back to the colony. Can you get the bldg maintenance folks to get with it as far as insect control?

I had an infestation of ants crawling on a wall after I moved a cabinet. I don't know where they came from or why they were ganging up on that particular wall (never there before), but finally I sprayed the wall with an insecticide that seemed to do the job; the ants stopped crawling on that space. However, on one wall (where they were gangin up again), I sprayed and the spray left dirty looking drip marks. Therefore, I don't want to have newly painted walls and then have to spray over them. These ants come in from the outside walls, so it seems and will use any opening (even holes in the wall where pictures are hgung) to enter the apartment. That is why I am inquiring about preparing th3e walls with insecticide FIRST, before I prime and paint them. Also -- since the painbter mentioned NOTHING about cleaning the walls first, again ... I wonder ...

I am getting my apartment painted, and I have dirty, messy walls (messy from holes from screws, etc.), and dirty from years of accumulated stuff. The man I spoke to (a friend of the family that we're paying, who claims to know "everything") wants to do what I consider a slapdash job with Behr's paint + primer in one. However, the walls are messy and have many holes. My first question is: if he paints OVER the blotches and spackled holes, will one coat of this paint w/primer do the job? My SECOND question is this -- we have ants, lots of them, in the walls, etc., of the building (South Florida). They enter through any means possible, including holes that are drilled, etc. for pictures and so forth. Is there ANY WAY POSSIBLE that I can spray the wals BEFORE the paint job? Or is there a primer that will contain insecticide? Realizing that ants are virtually
