Little did I realize. My aunt is on the board of one and she tells me horror stories of people dying and their children not paying anything and the unit needs help and the association is left paying the expenses, etc. Little did I realize.

We fortunately do not have condos around here close, but I'm beginning to believe that they are just like mobile home and will never be worth more than they are the day you sign the papers on one. There appears to be a very good chance that they will in fact be worth considerably less. Your property values are tied directly to how well others maintain their units and the stability of the ones responsible for upkeep of the other portions of the facility. The ones I have been in were build using the cheapest of appliances and much of the workmanship was not the best either.
Not a good deal in my not so humble opinion.
