I do that with freecycle in this area -- I give away things that are too big for me to handle ... the complex here will not allow us to dump furniture & stuff like that in the dumpster area, so I give away furniture like crazy. Or sell things real cheap on craigslist. Craigslist also has a "freebie" area that you can list free items for people to pick up, etc. I have no driveway to place things in for people to take.

I don't know what we paid originally Bill, but when looking on-line I was surprised at how much those big ones were. The replacement he bought may not do the job. It's small and portable but he did say he wasn't sure it had enough hp to power his tools. We'll find out today. Of course, he does so little anymore it if works just OK, it's worth it. That big compressor was a good one but was big, plus he had two extra tanks for it. He's got his big table saw etc that will probably go someplace too. When he had a workshop and two barns all this equipment was no problem. Trying to store it all in a garage, even our 3 car garage, means no room to work and we have to move the car out in order to use anything.
Wow, why can't I come across deals like that, the tank and compressor ain't cheap, and an electric motor is a cheap price to pay for an air compressor!
6am and people are cruising the street, I'm going to take a quick look around the garage and see if there is anything else I want to get rid of quick. We usually take things to Habitat but you can't beat the ease of just sitting it at the end of the driveway and having it disappear :)
