There are so many variables that need to be addressed when evaluating homes that it is nearly impossible to give a prospective buyer much more than "Let the buyer beware" advise. FHA inspectors are employed by the federal government and that fact alone speaks volumes when it comes to knowledge and integrity. In smaller communities like where we live these are usually local individuals that will have to meet you at the local coffee shops and often are local contractors as well, while in larger cities they may be some character with an uncle that was able to get him a paycheck. The short bit of advise is to look at the items the inspector concentrated on and this will give you some idea of the in depth conditions that were probably over looked. Far too many homes are bought and sold depending on the appearance of the decorations and home buyers are often caught up in the emotions or desperation's of the moment; in which case there is sure to be a payday to come.
