Terry used the correct word "restriction"....A sump pump is not designed
to produce any pressure.....It is a simple transfer pump.....Any reduction
of the outlet size will "restrict" the flow rate and overwork the pump motor
to some extent.....Since the manufacturer supplies an 1-1/4" adapter
I believe that is the smallest outbound drain pipe they have engineered for....
I suggest you stay with 1-1/2"....Pumps.
