To clarify Ray's point, the flow restriction on a positive displacement
piston pump and diaphragm pump will increase "down stream" line
pressure which power supplies, whether gas or electric, are engineered
to compensate for....The need, on this thread, is to move a large amount
of water, under zero pressure, from point A to point B as quick as possible..
The 1-1/4" adapter may also be supplied in order to hook up the sump
pump to a small drain line which connects to a larger 3" or 4" drain pipe....
Again flow pressure is not an issue, just restriction of the flow itself....Pumps
