Re: [DIY] Kitchen Faucet stopped working

Look for the brand name.
Search the internet for specific identification of your faucet.
Search for repair parts on the internet.
Most box stores have these parts in stock.

Faster way, if you have shut off valves under the sink that will turn off the hot and cold water to the faucet then shut the water off.
A lot of faucets have an Allen screw on the backside of the faucet, unscrew this and the handle should lift off.
Next, in some cases there will be a nut inside or outside of where the handle was attached
unscrew the nut (in some models its a wire clip that needs to be removed).
You should now be able to remove the valve body (could be a plastic cartridge) and take to the box store for a replacement.
Generally this will be less than $20.00.

After being in my house for 9 years I went to use the kitchen faucet this morning and noticed no water would come out. The handle of the faucets seems to move a little more freely/easier than it use to, but the dishwasher next to the sink is working just fine. I have checked all my other water faucets and they are all working both indoor and outdoor. I am thinking I need a new faucet, but wanted to see if anyone might have more experience in this than myself. (Yes, I have googled it already, so know a little)
