A lot of company's will install shingles in the cold weather although 40 isn't to cold I wouldn't recommend it if u are using a roofing gun the shingles may be brittle and the pressure from the guns could actually crack the shingle and the nail head won't seat right.

This saturday we are putting shingles on my daughter's house. The wind removed many of them last week and the insurance gave her a check.

The temperature is supposed to be under 40. The shingles will come from Menards. Because the temps will be colder and winter is coming, is there anything we should do to insure that they adhere to the others?

Should we give each shingle a squirt of a roofing caulk?
