Hi Joy;

 Something to be mindful of, is that matching the trim to the floor color will create a subconscious sense that the floor area is larger than it really is. That is usually a good thing in the confined space of an RV, with its narrow floors. Another effect that works in an RV is that sitting low makes the ceiling feel higher, therefore the space bigger. I had a very glossy white metal ceiling in my RV. During the day it was quite effective at reflecting light evenly throughout, even though there were no side windows. Then, at night it produced an almost magical effect. When I was only using task lighting which did not shine upward to illuminate the ceiling, it reflected like a mirror, creating a sense that the reflected image of the floor was the ceiling (like looking through a glass ceiling, at a second, higher ceiling). It made it feel like the ceiling was about 11 feet high, and that the cabinets and walls extended that high, too. I don't know if an actual mirror would have worked any better (or as well) for this, as the gloss white metal, which was about as reflective as an auto body finish. The slight softening of the image may have help in the illusion, which was really good at fooling the senses, much like those pictures that have a hidden image, that you do not see at first, but once you do, changes the way you perceive the image.
