Thank you, thank you, thank you! I had a refurbish project going to replace old crappy hinges on a sturdy cedar chest my wife bought years ago. I decided to put in a good piano hinge. I did not know about centering drill bits and was really not happy when the hinge really had a bind in it after installation. I removed all the screws and drilled new holes with a new centering bit. Voila! The hinge operates smoothly and quietly now.
