Well I gotta agree with devilsadvacat
A few years ago I went to Lowes to buy an item that costs around $200 which is quite a chunk of change for us.
When I was at the check out counter I told the cashier I wish my son were around so he could buy it and get the 10% military discount for me.
I told her he was in Afghanistan and has worked at a Lowes while in college too
She gave me the discount.
