I've got more of the old flooring up and can see the wood underneath.

BTW the cat claw did well pulling up nails with heads, but struck out on the
headless ones. In fact, it left me with 3 more headless ones. For now,
because of time constraints, I've marked them with pieces of painters tape
so I know where they're located. But back to the wood....

How can I tell if the wood floor is worth saving, as in not covering it back
up? How do I tell if it's pine, or hardwood? I *do* know it's tongue and
groove. It looks like it's been painted over a stain. Except for the worn
paint, and the nail holes, it actually looks in pretty good shape. (To me,
but then what do I know.)

 Thanks in advance.
